Joseph Lange has been practicing in the greater Springfield area in private practice since 1993. In 2003, he was recognized as a Top 10 Lawyer under 40 by BusinessWest Magazine. In 2005, Mr. Lange was recognized as a Rising Star for Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights representation by Super Lawyers.

Mr. Lange joined the firm as a shareholder in August 2007 after spending almost 7 years in Holyoke in a general civil practice firm. Mr. Lange’s areas of practice include bankruptcy, commercial matters, civil litigation, collections, landlord/tenant, real estate and creditor’s rights law. Mr. Lange practices extensively in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, state superior courts, district courts and housing courts.

In 2009, Mr. Lange presented a paper entitled The Trustee's Strong Arm Powers - Mortgage Challenges, Claims and Defenses (150kb, .pdf) at the Eighth Annual Western Massachusetts Bankruptcy Conference.

Practice Areas
Represents debtors, unsecured and secured creditors in bankruptcy proceedings under Chapters 7, 11 and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code; handles contested and adversarial proceedings in the Bankruptcy Court.

Represents both creditors and debtors in state court collection actions and other litigation; Housing Court representation usually limited to landlords; personal injury; real estate law and condominium law.
